It took a while for Drag Den Philippines host Manila Luzon to try different cosmetic enhancements and beauty treatments.

“I think a lot of people put a lot of stigma on getting these kinds of treatments,” Manila Luzon told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press during the luncheon hosted by Avignon Clinic at Manila House in Bonifacio Global City last September 19, 2022.

She continued, “And also with treating themselves and caring for themselves, and really prioritizing their health and beauty, and how it makes them feel.

“And so, I was really, really nervous to [try anything] at first.”

Good things she had a “great experience” and was “completely floored” the first time she decided to get “a little pinch here and a little scrub there.”

Manila Luzon said, “I met everyone at Avignon Clinic…They were so welcoming and lovely. The experience was beyond what I had imagined.”

One of her favorites is botox, which addresses the wrinkles—a telltale sign of aging.

“I requested for some botox because I looked sad and my forehead was saying… As some of you might know, I’m only half-Filipino. My father is Caucasian.

“And in America, I can, you know, look younger longer because I’m standing around with a bunch of Americans.

“But when I come to the Philippines, ‘Oh my gosh!’ I feel like I look so old!

“So thank you so much for the botox that [they] gave me… I feel like my forehead is now wrinkle-free.”

Her other favorite is the Em-Sculpt treatment. Her husband Michael Alvarez availed of this, much to Manila Luzon’s delight, “because after 30 minutes, he had a six-pack [abs] and I really enjoyed that!”

She further quipped, “It’s like a million sit-ups in 30 minutes!”

Ultimately, Manila Luzon hopes that more people would also change their negative perspectives toward beauty and skin-care treatments.

As she explained, “[Beauty] something that is… we can appreciate. And I feel like we have the capabilities of creating our own versions of beauty.

“I like to surround myself with as much beauty as possible, or finding the beauty in things that people don’t find beauty in.

“So it’s something that’s around us all the time. And it’s just something we get to enjoy, and get to create and let other people enjoy.”
