The Team at Studio 17
Dr. Walter and Grace Sibilia are the only two providers at Studio 17 Cosmetics + Wellness which is one aspect of their team that makes what they offer so unique.
Meet Dr. Briza Walter: Born and raised in Brazil, Dr. Walter came to the United States as a teen and has always loved helping people. She spent her time volunteering in soup kitchens and hospitals in Brazil and that passion to help others led her to pursue a medical degree and a career as a gynecological surgeon. After completing her residency at Morristown Medical Center and practicing for many years, she learned that “aesthetic medicine” was a terrific way to help patients feel good, comply with medical treatments, and live a healthier life. This led Dr. Walter to open Studio 17 Cosmetics + Wellness, where she focuses 100% of her love and dedication to anyone looking for integrative, full scope, minimally-invasive treatments, and anti-aging options. In building her business and reputation from the ground up, Dr. Walter has become a self-described successful, self-made Latina woman.
Meet Grace Sibilia: The beauty industry has been part of Grace’s life for a long time. As a young girl, she spent time in her mother’s hair salons in Union City and Hoboken where Hair Cult Salon is now, bringing coffee to the customers and painting their nails. As an adult, she worked hard to become an award-winning sales leader but in an effort to spend more time with her son, she became certified in medical billing and successfully managed an OBGYN office for a time. Eventually, after having an adult acne onset, it ignited her passion for the beauty industry and she returned to school and became a licensed medical aesthetician, following in her mother’s footsteps as a successful Latina woman in the beauty industry.
The Medical Doctor and Medical Aesthetician duo have a terrific team of three working behind the scenes to handle client communication, marketing, and office management.
Comfort + Safety of the Client Comes First
Dr. Walter and Grace are dedicated to making sure that every single person that walks through their door leaves feeling better than when they came in.
“Seeing the difference we can make in someone’s life just by helping them achieve their aesthetic and skin goals, well it just doesn’t get any better than that,” the duo told Hoboken Girl. “We love to make a difference in the confidence level of every single person we treat.”
The safety and comfort of the client are also priorities at Studio 17, both women have gotten the vaccine to prevent COVID-19 in addition to following specific guidelines in place in the office.
“We are both vaccinated and continue to strictly follow COVID-19 protocols, and then some,” Dr. Walter told Hoboken Girl. “Not only do we sanitize all of our tools that touch the skin, since we are a medispa as well, we also sterilize all tools through what is called an autoclave. It is the highest form of sanitation there is.”
Dr. Walter’s medical background as an Ob/Gyn gives her specialized knowledge of what treatments are safe for patients who are pregnant or trying to conceive. Studio 17 offers facials and treatments that can be safely enjoyed by expecting mommies. As always, the focus is on offering the best and safest option for each person.
Treatments Offered at Studio 17
“Some of our most popular services are anti-aging services with injectables and skin-tightening + collagen-stimulating procedures such as microneedling. As well as acne and hyperpigmentation treatments,” Dr. Briza told Hoboken Girl. “We specialize in anti-aging, minimally invasive treatments, and skin rejuvenation procedures.”
The ultimate goal is to treat the skin as a whole, from the medical side to the aesthetics side. One defining aspect of this team is the combined care they offer, of a physician and aesthetician — all within one practice. Each treatment is curated and carefully designed for the individual needs of our patients.
“We truly love what we do and care about our clients like family. Clients are always grateful when we can tweak our schedules to fit them in whenever we can,” Dr. Walter mentioned. “And anyone that has ever had a treatment with Grace knows how she lives to pamper you!”
Why They Love Working in Hoboken
Running a business in a tightly-knit community like Hoboken is a unique experience for the owners and customers alike. The team at Studio 17 says the community makes the struggles and hardships of owning a small business seem small.
“The reactions from our patients and clients after their treatment and during their skincare journey fuel the business. Getting a referral and hearing ‘thank you for making me feel and look so good’, or ‘thank you for helping me be my best self’ make our hearts swell with gratitude, love, and passion for what we do,” the duo told Hoboken Girl. “We love being part of the Hoboken heart. We love the diversity of our clientele here in Hoboken. It makes every day different and fun. And we must say we love seeing all the new pups every day around town on our way in, it makes our hearts smile!”
Don’t forget to mention Hoboken Girl to receive a complimentary natural fruit enzyme peel worth $50 added on to any treatment with Grace. This offer never expires so schedule an appointment at your earliest convenience.
