Metro Medspa recently opened its new and renovated location at 12608 Lamplighter Square Shopping Center, with a grand opening slated for September 30. The modern space features St. Louis’ first walk-in Botox bar and a long list of cosmetic services.

“The goal of this space is to create a place where women feel comfortable,” says owner Kate Schoemehl, who worked with the Lawrence Group to create an inviting, cosmopolitan atmosphere.

A Botox bar was placed in the waiting area to create a more open, communal experience, with walk-in appointments available. Keeping with the theme, the staff wears T-shirts that read “Tox-tender,” and there’s a list of “Tox-tail” treatments.

“I really want to have accessible aesthetics,” says Schoemehl, “and demystify aesthetic treatments through that process.”

Schoemehl, who worked alongside top industry experts in New York City, strives to keep Metro Medspa’s staff up to date with the latest techniques. The medical spa also offers cool sculpting, microneedling, laser hair removal, chemical peels, and more. (Membership options are available.)

“We are run by women, and we are a space that tries to empower women,” says Schoemehl. “We want people to feel comfortable around what were once taboo treatments and feel more empowered to look at them as maintenance.”
