Plans have been put forward to create a beauty treatment centre in Wrexham amid claims it would help to “gentrify” part of the town.

The proposals would see a shop on Pen-Y-Bryn merged with a neighbouring apartment to provide beauty treatments such as nail care, make-up, massages and facials.

Three treatment rooms would also be built to provide services such as botox, filler injections and laser treatments.

The retail unit on the edge of the town centre is currently occupied by letting agents Wrexrent, while the two-bedroom apartment is said to be empty.

In documents submitted to Wrexham Council, applicants Bryn Property Company Ltd. said the plans would assist with the redevelopment of the surrounding area.

The application states: “We are joining a commercial unit to an apartment in order to create a larger space for a ‘medi spa’ and beauty treatment centre.

“The existing commercial unit will be used as a reception, shop and general beauty area.

“The existing apartment will be used for treatments such as the injection of fillers and botox.

“There is an existing bin store and recycling area within the building that has capacity and will be used.

“We’ve talked to some neighbouring businesses and everyone thinks it’s a good idea that will continue to help ‘gentrify’ the area.”

The proposed business would cover an area of approximately 150 square metres, according to the proposals.

A decision will be made on the application by the local authority at a later date.
