The National Health Regulatory Authority has taken legal actions against a person for practising medicine without a license in a private residence.

The authorities charged the suspect with injecting Botox or dermal fillers for cosmetic purposes without a permit.

NHRA CEO, Dr Maryam Athbi Al-Jalahma, said the person had also committed several other violations.

Without a licence, the suspect practised medical profession, handled pharmaceutical products, established a pharmacy, provided health services and managed a health institution.

Al-Jalahma said the authority brought the suspect into custody during a joint operation with the General Department of Investigation and Criminal Evidence and the Public Prosecution.

Officials confiscated several unregistered devices and medicines in large quantities from the suspect’s residence. The case is now with Public Prosecution.

NHRA CEO urged all to take treatment only from licensed places and professionals who have the appropriate license.
