Happy belated Father’s Day, everyone! Sometimes fathers get the short end of the stick, so this is my official shoutout to the dads getting things done out there. Many fathers were lucky enough to get up super early and head to Evanston to run/walk in honor of the 2022 Ricky Byrdsong Memorial Race Against Hate. Held in Evanston on Juneteenth by the YWCA Evanston/North Shore, the event aims to create unity and bring an end to racial hatred and violence. The Dream Town Realty team joined thousands from across Chicagoland to race in either a 10K or 5K as a part of the first in-person Race Against Hate in two years!

On June 24, Nadiia Glavin (Compass), Dennis Huyck (KW One Chicago) and Stephen Hnatow (KW One Chicago) joined forces with Joel Schaub of Guaranteed Rate to host a dodgeball tournament fundraiser, with 100% of the proceeds going to Ukraine. Nadiia was born and raised in Ukraine, and Stephen and Dennis wanted to do something to make a difference. Dennis suggested a typical sporting event like basketball or floor hockey, and then Stephen shared on FB that dodgeball makes more sense because: “WHO would NOT want to throw a large red rubber ball at another broker after the past 12 months in this market?” Excellent point, Stephen!

Happy birthday to the summer babies out there. Terry Anderson and Frank Montro get to share their day with the United States on July 4, and Tracy Flanagan can still shoot off fireworks to celebrate her day on July 5. Sherri Southall celebrates on July 7, Heather Gustafson on the 8th, and then Ken Dooley and Julie Busby share a July 11 birthday. Would you believe Janet Belieff will celebrate on July 12? Right before Jim LaHa and Ilyce Glink will party on July 13. Debora McKay will get another year more amazing on July 14, while Matt Farrell and Grace Sergio raise their glasses on July 15. Andrew Perkins gets all the attention on July 16, but Erik Stegemann will have to wait until July 18. July 19 is a big day for Joe McBreen, Bruce Beddard and Garry Benson, while Gail Spreen gets the spotlight to herself on July 21. Connie Antoniou and John Federici share a July 22 day of birth, while Mike Cuevas and Marj Carpenter delight on July 25. Fran Broude, Ryan Holden and Paul Dincin share a July 26 birthday, while Gordon Munden barely sneaks in this month on the 31st.
