Vanderpump Rules’ Lala Kent says she hasn’t had microneedling done since before the pandemic, but it’s her go-to skin treatment, even if the day-after results look a little harsh. The 32-year-old reality TV star posted on her Instagram stories that the treatment combination of microneedling and PRF left her looking a little worse for wear, but she swears by it to rejuvenate her under-eye area and she prefers it to filler injections.

While you may be familiar with platelet-rich plasma therapy (PRP), Kent says she received platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) which involves a similar process of taking one’s blood and isolating the growth factors that can be used topically too. According to experts, PRP can release growth factors for a few hours, however PRF can release those growth factors for up to a week which is believed to deliver more robust, longer-lasting results. “They draw your blood, separate the platelets, then put the platelets on your skin and micro-needle it in,” explained Kent on her post.

Kent says she also had her physician inject the remaining platelets under her eyes to fill in hollowed tear troughs which she prefers to using filler in that area. For her recovery, Kent logged back on a day later to show slightly calmer skin and the products she was using to boost results and address bruising.

Her post-procedure toolkit includes the Alastin Gentle Cleanser ($45), Alastin Restorative Skin Nectar ($199) and Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective Gel ($70). “24 hours since my PRF and microneedling and I’ve washed my face and applied the recommended products,” she wrote. “Vitamin C will help with bruising.” Good tip! Thankfully, we know from experience that day-of photos can be quite harsh so it will be nice to see how Kent’s results progress.
