Jennifer Garner has issued a friendly warning to her fans to be ‘cautious’ about ‘injecting anything into your face’.

The actress, 50, is known for her stunningly natural beauty and flawless visage and in a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar, spilled her beauty secrets.

And the 13 Going On 30 star was quick to suggest that age-defying treatments and fillers are not the route to happiness as she remarked that people should ‘look in the mirror less.’

Jennifer, who shares two teenage daughters – Violet 16, and Seraphina, 13, with ex Ben Affleck – opened up on her beauty routine and what advice she would pass down to others, noting that she didn’t think extreme treatments are the way to go.

She explained: ‘My advice is to look at the mirror less and be cautious when it comes to injecting anything into your face.

‘Be very, very incredibly judicious and wait as absolutely long as possible to add anything. Don’t think that you’re 37 and you need to be shooting up your face.’

The Hollywood star went on to say that people should perhaps less to not ‘obsess’ over their looks and put their energy into other pursuits rather than their appearance.

She said: ‘Look in the mirror less, obsess less, and look at the rest of the world to see what you could be using your time for instead. We all look at our faces more than people used to, and it doesn’t do you any good. You obsess over changes or how to fix something on your face.’

During the chat, Jennifer emphasises that if you simply take care of your skin and hair, you can still look good without the need for adding ‘anything major’, with the actress swearing by SPF and protein rich hair products.

Jennifer in the past has spoken about her dislike for Botox, having tried it herself and been left dissatisfied with the results.

She told Real Simple in 2020: ‘I’ve gotten Botox a few times and I don’t like it—I don’t want a frozen face.’

She went on to say: ‘Nothing looks better in your 50s than SPF in your 20s – Doris Day, MD, a board-certified derm in New York, told me that and I asked her if I could steal it because it’s so true.

‘In your 20s, you don’t care what you’ll look like in your 50s, but someday you will! That and cleansing your face every night, at least use the face wipes; people laugh when I say that because I’ve used them for so long but I use them, even in the middle of the day, after a hike and wearing SPF, they give you a fresh start. And take care of your neck. Enjoy your neck.’
