YouTube’s beauty specialist Sarah Palmyra went viral after introducing a product that she claimed gave similar results to getting Botox.

She posted a longer video talking about the product, its results, and whether or not it was worth it.

This “Botox in a bottle” product is The Ordinary’s Argireline Solution 10% for $8.50.

After just a couple of months of using it every day, Sarah is in shock.

She begins the video by explaining how peptides in skincare “stimulate collagen production, which is important for anti-aging.”

The peptide in The Ordinary’s product “inhibits neuro-muscular connections” just as the peptide in Botox would.

Argireline is also referred to as acetyl hexapeptide-3 or acetyl hexapeptide-8.

“Now what this peptide does is it inhibits those muscle movements in the face which are responsible for dynamic wrinkles,” Sarah explains.

Dynamic wrinkles are natural wrinkles.

You can use retinol or sunscreen to target these, but Botox is the most effective method.

And Sarah says this Ordinary product is just as good.

For two weeks, Sarah used the product by itself twice a day.

However, she came across a study that found that pairing the product with The Ordinary’s $11.50 Matrixyl 10% + HA.

So, she began putting a couple of drops of this product on first in the morning, let it dry, and then applied the Argireline.

In terms of application, Sarah explains that The Ordinary doesn’t suggest mixing the Argireline with acids, and if you’re skin is sensitive you may not want to mix it with Vitamin C either.

“I did not know this, and I realized I experienced stinging in the morning when I was applying this because I was applying this after my Vitamin C,” she says.

Sarah emphasizes that you need to use the product twice a day, every day, to see results.

And she saw them in just six weeks.

Before using the product, she had a distinct wrinkle line between her brow, and it was easy for her to make a frowning face.

But after six weeks, she can barely move her eyebrows to wrinkle the same way, and the line is mostly gone.

Despite the noticeable results, Sarah mentions some negatives to the product.

Since the formula is so thin, it takes a little while to absorb into your skin.

You should wait for it to dry because if you don’t then it will pull your moisturizer off your face.

“Overall, I did not experience any sensitivity, and this did not cause any peeling or dryness, which is amazing because I have very sensitive skin,” Sarah admits.

“I definitely think you need to keep applying this if you want to see those results.”

Because the product is so cheap, Sarah says it doesn’t work the same as Botox.

If you stop using this product for a couple of weeks, your target areas are likely to go back to how they were before you started using it.

However, Sarah admits you don’t have to keep using it twice a week after the first few weeks.
