Gwyneth Paltrow is an actor who rose to fame in the 1990s. As she is approaching her 50s, Paltrow has talked quite a bit about aging and her thoughts on this subject as a Hollywood star.

Recently, Paltrow also revealed her admiration for the younger generation. She has two kids in their teens, and Paltrow seems to like their peers’ views on aging.

Gwyneth Paltrow endorsed an anti-aging product

Paltrow has endorsed a number of products throughout her career, and a recent one is Xeomin, an anti-wrinkle injection.

She wrote on Instagram in a post from September 2020, “Dealing with aging is a multi-layered experience. I take good care of my skin, hydrate and exercise, but sometimes a girl needs a little extra help. I was excited to try @xeominaesthetic (incobotulinumtoxinA) for my frown lines, it’s a uniquely purified anti-wrinkle injection that does not contain any unnecessary proteins. I am a big fan.”

While a lot of celebrities would rather hide any anti-aging work they have done, Paltrow seems to be taking a different approach. She does not shy away from talking about this topic.

For example, she has openly shared a story of an anti-aging injection turning into a “disaster.”

“I had a midlife crisis when I turned 40, and I went to go see this doctor,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “It was a disaster. I didn’t do anything else for a long, long time. I was bruised, my forehead was completely frozen, and I didn’t look like myself at all.”

The experience led Paltrow to try Xeomin, and she also urges other women to talk about their own stories related to anti-aging injections.

“I think it’s nice when women share, because there’s a lot of shame around surgery or injectables or fillers, and it would be nice if people felt confident about the choices they were making,” she explained. “But if they want to have a beauty secret, that’s okay, too. I’m an open book—I’ve shared what works for me, because that’s how I’ve always learned.”

Although Paltrow acknowledges Hollywood’s youth-obsessed culture, she also pointed out that things could be changing for the better.

“The younger generation is embracing and deifying women like Jane Fonda and Frances McDormand,” she said. “They just love cool women, whether they’re older or different to them.”

Paltrow added, “They’re so much less judgmental about other women of all shapes and sizes. I observe that with my daughter. They look at the whole woman, instead of some super-airbrushed, FaceTuned Instagram photo. I like the trend I’m seeing.”

Additionally, Paltrow herself has learned to see the positive sides of aging. She admitted to Allure that she feels better nearing 50 than she did at 25.

“I’ve come to appreciate the process of aging,” she said. “I’m healthy, knock on wood, and I’ve got people in my life dealing with various things, and what I’ve come to understand is that what you put into your health you get out of it… There are a lot of different environmental [factors] and choices you make that will affect how you age physically, but also really how you feel as you go through it.”
