Not only is he the master of lip injections (Hi, Kylie!) and the non-surgical nose job, but Dr. Ourian can give you a more pronounced chin in minutes using hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers.

According to him, here’s why non-surgical chin jobs are growing in popularity: “Doctors never had a short-term option before fillers came along, and the only option was really the one-size-fits-all chin implant. It wasn’t a customizable option and now we have the ability to mold someone’s chin based off of the rest of the features on their face,” he explained. 

“A person with a stronger chin is perceived as a stronger, smarter, and more of a go-getting type of person,” Dr. Ourian says. “It’s no coincidence that Batman, Superman, and most successful Supermodels all have this characteristic.” (His patients obviously don’t request Batman’s chin though; they ask for either J. Lo’s or Salma Hayek’s.)

When patients come in to see if they’re a candidate for a chin job, Dr. Ourian takes a profile picture of his patients and draws a line from the innermost corner of their eye (where the eyebrow begins), past their nostril, and down toward their chin. If that line continues to be straight, then their chin is proportionate to their face. If it goes inward at an angle toward their neck, then they have a recessive chin. This is where fillers come in handy.

For patients who are hesitant about the non-surgical procedure, Dr. Ourian offers them a saline trial where he injects the substance where he would normally put the fillers so they can see the results. The saline only stays in the area for about five minutes and costs $500, but if the patient chooses to proceed with the procedure, then the money goes toward the overall cost.

Once the patient decides if he or she wants to move forward, they have a few options: If you’re looking for something more temporary, Dr. Ourian recommends going with hyaluronic acid options Juvederm or Restylane. These will last one to two years and cost around $1,500 to $3,000, depending on how many syringes are needed to build out the chin. If you’re looking for results to last two to four years (the HA molecule size is a bit larger, so it lasts longer), he recommends Voluma or Perlane, which will run you about $3,000 to $4,000.

For a more permanent fix, he suggests Vellafill, which is made up of microscopic beads that contain microplexiglass. “Your body never will absorb this substance, which is why it lasts so long,” he says. This option, because it lasts forever, ranges from $5,000 to $6,000.

With any of these options, the cool thing is you can see immediate results. Dr. Ourian said that his patients’ chin and jawline instantly look more chiseled.

Since the results are so immediate, if you don’t like what you see, the fillers (minus the Vellafill) can be reversed on the spot with a protein enzyme called hyaluronidase.
