College football field damaged by heavy rain 19 days before home opener

SMU football has a big problem on its hands. Just 19 days before its home opener against Lamar, the Mustangs seem to be having a drainage issue.

That is if the footage at Gerald J. Ford Stadium isn’t doctored in any way — which we have no reason for it to be. The photo of SMU’s home field certainly doesn’t look real, though. The field, which certainly isn’t natural, seems to have gone the way of bad botox. It apparently rained pretty hard on Monday down in Dallas and the field around the 15-yard-line seemingly took the brunt of the water.

It looks like when a cut gets infected or a blister decides it’s had enough and wants to go the way of a pimple.

SMU is lucky that its season opener is at North Texas on Sept. 3, but the Mustangs don’t have too much time to figure this issue out.
