Siesta Key star Chloe Long calls out the show’s editing in a recent episode for taking something she said to Jordana Barnes out of context.

Chloe Long called out Siesta Key for the way they edited her in a recent episode. There’s been a lot of shady editing this season, and the stars are not afraid to speak their minds. Recently, Juliette Porter called out the show’s editors for her conversation with her friend Lexie Salameh. In the episode, it appeared as though Juliette didn’t want to listen to her friend talk about her relationship struggles with Mike Vazquez and instead talked over her and made the conversation about herself. Juliette said they actually sat and talked for hours, but the full conversation didn’t make the final cut.

Chloe is the latest Siesta Key cast member to call out the show. Chloe shared and later reposted an Instagram story where she informed fans that the new episode featured a scene where her words were taken out of context. The star explained that the episode shows her asking her costar Jordana Barnes if she is on her period, saying that she’s more sensitive on her period. Chloe explained that she was saying this in regard to getting Botox and fillers. “However, MTV thought it would be okay to edit me saying that as if I thought @jordanalexus was being sensitive to the conversation we were having because she was on her period,” Chloe wrote.

Chloe admitted she understands how reality tv works and that Siesta Key will always edit the stars to make the episodes as dramatic as possible to keep fans entertained. However, Chloe says the decision to edit her and make it appear as if she’d say something like that to another woman is “utterly disgusting.” Chloe added, “I would never use someone’s period as ammo against them as to why they are behaving a certain way.” Chloe’s post comes a few weeks after Jordana revealed she’d be distancing herself from Siesta Key on social media because of how the show portrayed her and her friendship with Sam in a recent episode.

Siesta Key fans aren’t always on Chloe’s side and have accused her of starting fights and fabricating drama for the show, but this time no one can argue with Chloe. The edit was incredibly disrespectful to her and to all women. In a world where women are constantly stereotyped as being over-emotional and criticized any time they have a negative reaction, the show should have known better than to edit Chloe and Jordana’s scene that way. Reality shows need a villain, and Chloe is often Siesta Key‘s go-to, but this time editors took things too far.

It’s a good thing Chloe called them out, not only so fans know she would never say something like that, but so no viewers get the idea that it’s okay to accuse women of being too sensitive on her period. Siesta Key has angered a lot of its stars this season, and they’ve been more outspoken than ever before, which has fans wondering how much longer the series will go on. If they continue to disrespect their stars, they might not come back for another season.
