Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Trolled For Her Cannes Look, Trolls Say She Looks Aged, Plastic

Every time a celebrity steps out, there is a particular section of people who find something or the other to criticise. It may be their clothes, the way they walk or if they find nothing else, it’s how they look.

It happens more often to female stars since they seem like an easy target. “She looks old”, “Why is she talking like that? “What is that makeup?” The list of reasons is endless.

Something similar happened to Bollywood superstar Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as she made an appearance at the 75th Cannes Film Festival recently.

The actress and former Miss World has many feats to her credit and it won’t be wrong to say that she paved the way for the many Indian actors today who are walking on, be it international events, cinema or the red carpet.

She has been a global star much before Priyanka Chopra or Deepika Padukone found fame overseas. In other words, she did it way before it was the norm.

She has been among the OG Cannes attendees and has been making an appearance at the grandeur fest regularly for two decades now.

Her walk down the red carpet is the most awaited among all the stars who attend. Not only that, she was the first Indian actress to ever sit on the jury in 2003, her second year of attending Cannes (she made her debut in 2002).

This year too, for the 75th Cannes Film Festival, as the world was waiting for her to strut down the red carpet, trolls found something to bring her down.

Soon after her first pictures got out, she became the target of trolls who mocked her for “looking different”, “having something done to her face” and “getting botox”.

People are going crazy discussing the nitty-gritty of her face from her nose to lips to her cheeks in the comment section.

“Oh god looks like she might have also done botox as her face is swollen,” a user commented. Another wrote, “She looks horrible what she did she is fat or what.” Someone wrote, “Too much botox she’s looking too old.” “Did anyone notice the difference in her lips in the previous posts and now??????, said another.

Actresses get a lot of flak for getting procedures done to their face, while male actors, who get it done too, are conveniently spared and ignored. It’s funny that these same people would have bashed her for looking old if god forbid she flaunted wrinkles, fine lines or saggy skin on the red carpet.

What’s even shameful is most of them are Indians who, rather than feeling proud that she has been upholding that place at Cannes for 20 years, think it’s more important to comment on why her face looks lifted or firm or different. They have their priority straight, it seems.

If they can say these horrible things about the most beautiful woman in the world, who else stands a chance? It’s simply pathetic and downright evil.
